Many SaaS companies think the EU AI Act only applies to consumer-facing products. It doesn't. What happens on August 2, 2026?
This is the main enforcement date for high-risk AI systems. After this date, national market surveillance authorities can take action against non-compliant systems — including ordering products off the market and imposing fines. Fines for non-compliance with high-risk system requirements can reach €15 million or 3% of global annual turnover.
